Anchorites in Shropshire: Archaeological and Archival Evidence
Victoria Yuskaitis, PhD researcher at the University of Leeds, has been studying anchorites in the Shropshire area since 2016. Victoria will discuss her research, focusing on the following local churches:
- Holy Trinity, Much Wenlock
- St Martin’s, near Oswestry
- St John the Baptist, Ruyton
- St Mary’s, Acton Burnell
- St Andrew’s, Great Ness
- The Blessed Virgin Mary, Ellesmere
- St Andrew’s, Stanton-Upon-Hine-Heath
- St John the Baptist, Church Preen
A Q&A will follow, and documents from the Archives will be available to view – all are welcome!
