Adult education courses

We run an adult education programme together with the Shropshire Museum Service. Popular courses at Shropshire Archives include house history, Latin for local and family history and palaeography.   To book or request further information on courses at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, Shropshire Archives and Ludlow Museum Resource Centre contact: [email protected]

Friends of Shropshire Archives

Our Friends group put on an enjoyable series of walks, talks and visits. Find out more on the Friends of Shropshire Archives website.

Group visits

We offer family and local history groups the chance to make a special visit to discover more about the fabulous collections we hold here, and to find out what goes on behind the scenes.

When can we visit?

We can accommodate group visits on Mondays or Tuesdays. Unfortunately we can’t offer evening visits.

How much will it cost?

A two hour session costs £50 for up to 20 people, and usually involves a talk about our work and the services we offer, a tour behind the scenes and the chance to look at a selection of archive material tailored to the interests of the group.

For family or local history groups who wish to have their own speaker, we offer a talk, ‘An Introduction to Shropshire Archives’, at a cost of £50 plus expenses.  For bespoke workshops or training sessions there is a charge of £120 per half day.

Please contact us for a price if your group size is more than 20.
