Access during COVID-19 pandemic
Shropshire Archives is re-opening in a phased way from Wednesday 29 July. Initially this will be with reduced opening times and only for pre-booked spaces in the search room with all documents requested in advance.
There will be no PCs or access to microfilm, microfiche and the open shelves in our reading room.
Read our essential information to help you plan your visit.
Events, meetings and onsite volunteering placements are currently suspended to reduce social interaction.
Staff are continuing to provide an enquiries and copying service. Staff are working some of the time onsite and some of the time from home, due to the need to social distance in the building. This means that waiting times for searches or copies may be slightly longer than normal.
We’ve waived handling fees for copying orders.
Please email [email protected] with your query and we’ll try our best to help.
We are continuing to upload new catalogues and images to our website. Find out what’s new on our blog. We also have a team of volunteers working on a variety of indexing projects.
Please check Shropshire Council’s coronavirus pages for general updates.
